"limbic" is a Visual Music clip which reflects the emotional processing of music in the limbic system and the resulting reactions of the body (the so-called "chills"). It has been proved that musical attributes like the violation of expectations, the beginning of something new, a new cue or a recurring pattern are more often leading to chills. Those can be expressed, among other things, through a higher heart rate, twitching facial muscles, sweaty hands or even the well-known goose bumps. The film discusses how far chill-experiences are part of the evolutionary and/or the cultural development.
"limbic" was produced as a Video 2 exam for Prof. Dr. Heike Sperling and Andreas Kolinski.

Guillotine (It goes Yah)

Este é o videoclip da música Guillotine (It goes Yah) dos Death Grips, uma banda  de Sacramento, Califórnia, formada em 2010. O grupo é formado pelo vocalista Stefan "MC Ride" Burnett (o que aparece no vídeo), Zach Hill (bateria) e Andy Flatlander Morin. 

A música é descrita como punk rock, hip hop e noise. Lançaram o álbum Exmilitary em Abril 2011, e em 2012 lançaram os álbuns The Money Store em Abril e No Love Deep Web em Outubro, ambos recebidos com muito boas críticas.

O que me interessa neste videoclip é a sua simplicidade/excentricidade e tenho muita curiosidade em descobrir como foi conseguido o efeito de glitch de televisão. Agrada-me também o facto de nos fazer sentir que estamos ali com ele no assento do lado... e não podermos fugir.

Alguém tem alguma sugestão sobre como poderão ter feito o glitch então?

I tried to capture the beauty of both the human body's figure and its motion. The figure in the image, which is formed into something similar to a sculpture, is created by combining 10,000 individual photographs of a dancer. By putting together uninterrupted individual moments, the resulting image as a whole will appear to be something different from what actually exists. With regard to these two viewpoints, a connection can be made to a human being's perception of presence in life.

Ferrous printer toner particles floating on the surface of water are attracted by a magnet and align to the invisible magnetic field around them. The patterns and motions that result are strangely ordered and organized.

Time-lapse sequences were created from individual photos shot with a Nikon D90, DIY macro lens and custom intervalometer. Edited with Adobe Premiere.
